COMING SOON ON KRYP-TV

KRYP-TV STATION ID from Todd Franklin on Vimeo.

This Thursday, meet Scary Larry on Happy Dead Bird Day and then check back for his show next week. Scary Larry likes to tell joke after joke and be warned these jokes will slay you!

Don’t forget about Vlad, as he’s busy working on Vlad the Impaler Christmas Stake-tacular Show.

Vlad has taken some time out of his busy schedule of stabbing, skewering and slashing to put everyone into the holiday spirit with his new show. Not to worry, as he reassured me that he will not disembowel any of his guest stars but instead agreed to only spike the eggnog.

FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER & BABY FRANKENSTEIN

This Universal Studios souvenir postcard is from the 1970's and the caption on the back simply states that we're looking at Frankenstein's Monster and Baby Frankenstein. My guess this character was very "short" lived.

Gasoline Alley has a photo of a Baby Frankenstein souvenir pinback from 1976.

ZOMBIES MIGHT LIKE BRAINS, BUT THEY LIKE CAKE TOO

Yes, that’s Bill Hinzman, the cemetery zombie from Night of the Living Dead. He’s enjoying a piece of the 40th anniversary cake that was presented to the cast at Monstrous Weekend convention.

See today’s post at Neato Coolville.

BOXOFFICE FRANK N. STEIN CLIPPING

"Don't worry Frankie baby, I'll get you more roles. I know, I know, you're tired of doing kid's birthday parties and appearances on local late night spook shows, but I got something big for you. Really, I do. But first you better do this Bic Pens commercial."

MEET FRANKENSTEIN JACK

I’m not much of a pumpkin carver as I usually go all traditional with my Jack O’Lanterns with the triangle eyes and toothy grin. For tonight I decided to do something different. I played mad scientist and carved a Frankenstein Jack O’Lantern. So with my trusty steak knife and a sharp bottle opener I created this.

Also, I just wanted to thank all you creeps and ghouls for stopping by all this month. More weird stuff is planned, so the fun doesn’t stop on Halloween. Be sure to check back.

Thanks to everyone who entered the Monster Head Race contest and congrats to Jim for winning!

VLAD WILL BE BACK

I’m happy to announce that Vlad has decided to stay in Weird Hollow a little longer. He’s having so much fun doing his new TV show that he’s signed on for some more episodes. The nice thing, he’s only impaled three of our crew members and that’s not bad.

So keep watching for new episodes!

THE MYSTERIOUS DOLL EYE FROM SAINT BLOODWORTH'S MUSEUM OF THE ODD

This strange item was not found by Saint, but instead was mailed to the museum back in the early 1940's. It was sent in a package without a return address and without any note. The only items included were a glass eyewash cup and an unmarked photograph of a mother and her young daughter holding a doll.

What makes this doll eye so mysterious is that it glows red at the strike of midnight. For more than fifty years this eye glows red for one minute starting at midnight and no one knows why?

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND OF THE MONSTER HEAD RACES - TUESDAY

We're down to the final race of the Monster Head Races. The underwater monster vs. the underground monster will air this Tuesday. One of these monsters will be the champion of all the monster head racers. Also, someone will win the original Revenge of the Creature Faint Check.

Congrats to all the race fans that picked the Creature or the Mole Man. We have an even match since four people picked each monster head. For the Creature we have Bulldoggrrl, Stephen, Shawn and Dr. Squid. Rooting for the Mole Man is Dex1138, Jim, Shotgun_Mario and greenbeanbaby. Unfortunately we can only have one winner for the Faint Check. So, I've hired Vlad to choose a winner or as he likes to say vinner after the race. Good luck and again thanks for playing!

HAND OF KING NEBKAHARMOSS FROM SAINT BLOODWORTH'S MUSEUM OF THE ODD

This shriveled hand once belonged to a living mummy. In 1923 Saint and his crew traveled to Egypt to help with a recently discovered tomb. The tomb belonged to King Nebkharmoss, an Egyptian king who was mummified almost three thousand years ago. The tomb had countless artifacts and priceless treasures that were perfectly preserved. It was a find to rival the discovery of Carter’s Tutankhamun. The tomb only had one problem. It was cursed. Of course curses never stopped Saint before and most turned out to be false.

Unfortunately, the tomb was truly cursed and the dead King decided he didn’t like people tromping around in his eternal resting place. Saint described the experience as if he dipped his foot down into Hades.

Saint and his men were in the main chamber when a gust of wind ripped thru the tomb and blew out the torches. They were in total darkness. Saint clicked on a flashlight just in time to see one of his men ripped in two by the hands of the mummified King. Unlike movie mummies this monster moved fast. Before Saint could get a couple shots from his pistol, the mummy had killed three more men. The curse was in full force as tunnels started to cave in and walls began to break. Saint and the rest of the men scrambled to make it back to the surface. But before they escaped the mummy grabbed hold of Saint and started to crush him. Saint used his saber and cut off the hand of the mummy. Just a moment before the tomb completely caved in, Saint reached down and picked up the mummy's hand and jumped out to safety.

As Saint used to say, “I had the largest find of the century slip away from me. I sure wasn’t going to leave that cursed tomb empty handed.”

ROUND 2 - MONSTER HEAD RACES - THIS TUESDAY

This Tuesday starts round two of the Monster Head Races with Mole Man vs. The Mummy! The folks still alive in the contest - Widgett, Sherrie, greenbeanbaby, Sailormom, Chris, Shotgun_Mario, Jim, Dr. Squid, Dex1138, Halloween Spirit, Bulldoggrrl, Stephen, sock monkey, Dan, Erick and Shawn.

Congrats to all of you for surviving and sorry for everyone that's out of the race.

Since Frankenstein is my favorite monster, I was rooting for him, but he stumbled at the start of the race and that cost him. As to why it looks like some monsters have a head start? These little devils start as soon as I set them down. So the video begins right after I take my hands out of the frame.

1978 DRACULA'S DOG BOXOFFICE COVER

Hmm. . . I didn't know that Dracula even owned a dog.

Watch the great horror host Sammy Terry introduce this movie.

Dracula's Dog is also known as Zoltan, Hound of Dracula.

HEADLESS MAN PHOTO FROM THE GEORGE EASTMAN HOUSE COLLECTION

This trick photo is from the 1870's and comes from the collection of the George Eastman House. They've been sharing some rare and early photos from their collection on flickr.

1979 WOLFMAN BOXOFFICE CLIPPINGS

Both of these clippings are from Boxoffice magazine. I've never seen this movie and I hear it's a bad film, but I do like that they went with the classic Universal Wolfman look.

MOLE MAN VS. ZOMBIE: MONSTER HEAD RACE #4

THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN AT THE RITZ

Wow, would you look at that! The Evil of Frankenstein is playing over at the Ritz in Montgomery City tonight. Shame that we're 44 years too late! Someone hurry up and build a time machine so we can catch this fright flick tomorrow on the 17th in 1964.
