SCARY LARRY SHARES HIS 1972 8MM DRACULA FILM

Again, Scary Larry presents us with another treat from his vault of goodies. First we visited the late 1980's with his Real Ghostbusters home video and now he takes us back to the early 1970's with his 8mm home movie, The Night of the Blood of the Revenge When Dracula Struck Back Scary Larry Strikes Back.

Click the video below and watch Scary Larry introduce his first film from 1972 and then watch the 8mm film that follows after.

The film was made in the summer of 1972 and these “monster kids” ended up on Page 7 of their high school paper. Click on the vintage article below for a closer look.

Originally they recorded dialogue, but unfortunately the audio tape is long lost. Below is the original five page script. Again, click each image for a closer look.

Yes, this proves that once you’re a “monster kid” you’re always a “monster kid.”

KING KONG VS. SAUCER MAN: CHAMPIONSHIP MONSTER HEAD RACE

Hello race fans! The championship race is finally here and boy do we have an exciting race for you. King Kong and Saucer Man destroyed the competition to qualify for this final race. I guarantee these monsters gave every ounce of their monster blood to insure this race goes into the MHR history book.

Now watch Vlad pick the winner for the Famous Monsters Magazine signed by Uncle Forry.

Big congrats to K0dama for winning the signed Forry Famous Monsters mag!

Thanks for watching this year’s Monster Head Races and big thanks to everyone that entered the contest. Be sure to meet back here next year when you’ll see this year's winner race a new group of monsters heads!

CHAMPIONSHIP MONSTER HEAD RACE WILL AIR LATER TODAY

Oh no, we have a delay with today’s Championship Monster Head Race. I just uploaded the video and of course the still YouTube picked was the last frame showing the winner. I’ve picked a new frame, but it will take hours for it to change. Look for the race sometime later today.

Meanwhile, I want to say congrats to the six people who are still alive in the Monster Head Races contest. Monster Firefly, Erick and Sean Aaberg picked the 8th wonder of the world, King Kong. Kodama, Max the Drunken Severed Head and Paul Conrad picked the creeping horror with the biggest cranium in the galaxy, Saucer Man. One of you six will walk away with a Forry Ackerman signed copy of Famous Monsters and our pal Vlad will pick the winner!

Be sure to check back here later today for the final race and sorry for the delay.

DIABOLICAL DR. OLDSMOBILE

Meet Dr. Oldsmobile. He hasn’t been seen since the early 1970's when he was bringing life to his automobile creations in his mad lab for the now extinct Oldsmobile line of cars. His claim to fame was the W-Machines, those 4-4-2 monster muscle cars. A cast of misfit monsters known as Elephant Engine Ernie, Shifty Sidney, Wind Tunnel Waldo and Hy Spy helped the good doc create these powerful four wheeled monsters.

Below is an advertising folder that features Dr. Oldsmobile and his monsters.

Close-ups of two of his monster assistants.

There's not much out there on Dr. Oldsmobile. Click here to see some 1969 magazine ads. At the bottom of those ads it says you could send off for a set of four posters and a booklet. Those would be nice to see. Here's some ads from 1970 - here, here, here and here. Also the GM Photo Store is selling some Dr. Oldsmobile 8 X 10 photo prints here, here and here.

I forgot I had this great promo paper that was used to promote the movie Gorgo. Sorry for the poor photos, but it's too big for my scanner.

LITTLE BIG FRANKIE: THE LITTLEST FRIENDLIEST MONSTER IN TOWN

Earlier this year I was rummaging thru a box of old Cracker Jack prizes at a antique store and found this little green man.

The little voice inside my head said, “Hey, that little green man looks like Aurora’s Big Frankie model.” Sure enough, it’s a little Big Frankie gumball charm (he’s missing his loop) and I had never seen one before. Take a look at ToyRanch’s collection.

Since I’ll probably never own an authentic Big Frankie this little Big Frankie will have to do.

Take a look at the original 1964 Big Frankie ad found on the backs of comic books.

In this panel we’re supposed to believe that this kid is building Big Frankie. I’m not so sure. His face is kind of deviant looking. I think he just pulled the arms off of poor Big Frankie.

I didn’t know Big Frankie came with karate chop action. He should have used it on that kid before the brat tore his arms off.

Moebius Models is selling a reproduction Big Frankie model kit. Take a look here.
