THE MAD DOCTOR OF MARKET STREET AT THE KIVA THEATRE AD
This ad for the Halloween midnight showing of The Mad Doctor of Market Street was found in an old scrap book from the KIVA Theatre in Slater, Missouri. According to this newspaper ad, the KIVA had a Halloween Party contest on the stage. There's not much info on the KIVA Theatre, but it would be great to see photos from this night.
Two movie posters found at Heritage Auctions. The second one is an Australian Daybill poster.

DON'T TRESPASS ON FREAK FARM: WATCH THE TRAILER INSTEAD
Has anyone ever seen the movie Freak Farm? The chances of anyone saying they saw it would be very slim since the film was poorly distributed. Most people have never heard of this obscure horror movie from 1979 and the unlucky few that did catch it back in the day probably wished they had spent their three bucks on a different flick. Actually, it sounds like no one will ever get to see the complete film as it's been rumored to be lost. Apparently when Ozark International Pictures went bankrupt in 1981, a mysterious fire destroyed their film library and every print of Freak Farm was destroyed.
Here at Weird Hollow we’re happy to share a few artifacts from this film starting with the original movie poster, (pictured above). Unfortunately, there’s just not much info out there, but we did find this March 23, 1979 Boxoffice Magazine clipping with a small blurb about Freak Farm. According to the executive producer, the film had problems from the get-go. Click the image for a closer look -
The main item to surface and the only known surviving piece of film is the trailer. It was found stuck under the projector at the Astro Drive-In. Here’s the trailer for the lost film, Freak Farm -
Now that you’ve watched the trailer go visit the Neato Coolville blog for more information on Freak Farm, the film no one has ever seen.

MONSTERS ARE SO SILLY (PUTTY)
From the crypt of the late 1970's comes monster putty in the form of Frankenstein Glow Putty and Dracula Glow Putty by Larami Toys. The card art could have fit perfectly on any of Marvel’s horror mags from the 1970's. Actually the artwork looks like the work of the great Pablo Marcos who is best known for his work on The Tales of the Zombie and Conan the Barbarian.
Just for fun and not to let any monster feel left out, here’s a Silly Putty “lift” of the Wolfman.

VAMPIRE CAVEGIRL SNAPSHOT
At first glance you think this trick or treater is dressed as a regular caveman. When you look closer you’ll notice that this kid is wearing a Topstone Vampire Girl mask.
Wow, talk about an original costume. The kid was probably the only Vampire Cavegirl on the block. Looks like the kid is flexing some muscles with that giant bone. Is there meat hanging off of it? If that’s the case, Vampire Cavegirl probably had a parade of dogs that followed her on Halloween night.
Here’s some original Famous Monster magazine ads and links for this classic Topstone mask.
View the original Topstone Vampire Girl mask here and a newer recast(?) here. Learn more about Topstone masks with this article here.
